Capturing a moment is the essence of what photography can do. Michael Wittig can do more, if many viewers of his photographs are to be believed – he can photograph souls. Maybe sometimes he can; at least his main motivation is to make human nature visible, to catch a glimpse into a person's soul for a moment and to grant this to the viewer of his portraits. By portraits he essentially means all photographs in which people are depicted, including the so-called genres of people photography such as fashion, beauty, editorial, advertising, etc. and also nude photography. For Michael Wittig, it is the most honest and intimate form of portrait photography - in his opinion, a person usually automatically reveals much more about themselves as soon as they decide to take off their clothes. During his many years of photographic work, Michael Wittig attracted attention with his expressive model and fashion photos, his lively portraits and his artistic work. In recent years, in addition to intensive work with people, Wittig has also repeatedly artistically dealt with light in connection with dynamics and water. He has exhibited on this topic several times. In addition to many collaborations, commissioned works, publications and exhibitions, in the end it is usually the situation in which people meet each other and create something that establishes Michael Wittig's passion for photography as well as his artistic and cultural work.
