BIOGRAPHY

My name is Marina Tsaregorodtseva and I’m a still life Photographer who currently lives and works in London, United Kingdom. My way to photography was nonlinear. I completed a degree in accounting and finance in 2000. Originally from Russia, I relocated to the UK in 2009 through the work transfer. Moving to another country had a huge impact on my life: loneliness, inability to share experiences and impressions with close family kind of forced me to restrain personal feelings. This is how I came to photography a few years ago. Largely, I’m self-taught — started taking photos for my own pleasure, but very soon it became my choice of expression. Objects, theirs representation and how they are perceived became a source of inquiry and inspiration. I’m creating a new meaning by taking cues from fine art, abstract forms, texture, light and shadows. Through my photographs I attempt to engage a spectator in extracting the hidden beauty found in natural and manmade environments.
