BIOGRAPHY
I am Artist Gray. Born Ozon Theswua, I am from a small town on the Southern East Coast of the United States. I am a self-taught photographer and an avid lover of the art of photography. Photography began for me as a search for another creative outlet. Being self-taught, I take pride in not being confined to the bounds of a box or having to conform to a certain way of being when it comes to making art. I feel that much of photography has lost its soul, so for me, my goal is to stay true to my artistic vision. While I shoot both digital and medium format film, I am an avid lover of film photography. As a minimalist, my goal is to create something visually stimulating from little or nothing. I draw my inspiration from many things. It could be something I see in everyday life or music or other works of art. I love the works of Penn and Avedon. Also, Paolo Roversi, Juergen Teller, and Guy Bourdin. I love human beauty, so for me, I focus on portraits, beauty, and fine art. I love meeting new people and the connections that ultimately lead to beautiful photographs. In the end, the goal is to make art. Art that moves. Art that evokes emotion. Art that's pure. "My art is not dependent upon your understanding of it. I create art because I am in love with it." -Artist Gray
