BIOGRAPHY

Andrea Manni was born on August 13, 1976. From a very young age he was fascinated by photography, which he began to approach as a child with the analogue compact cameras, and then moved on to an old twin-lens reflex camera given to him by his father on the occasion of a trip to Sicily . The interest in photography remained alive but at an amateur level for a long time, until one day the desire to deepen what he felt to be a nascent passion made its way into him. So he bought his first digital SLR and began experimenting with all photographic genres, discovering that he had a real predilection for portraits. In December 2015 one of his photos was chosen by the writer Donato Carrisi to be published in the special Christmas edition of the e-book of his new novel "La ragazza nella nebbia" (The Girl in the Fog) published by Longanesi. In October 2018 he exhibited his first photographic project at the QR Photogallery in Bologna, under the patronage of the Municipality of Bologna. In the meantime, he refined his techniques more and more and decided to switch to a professional-level reflex. In September 2019 he was called to photograph the solemn mass for the 50th anniversary of the death of Padre Marella in the cathedral of Bologna, with the presence of various excellences in the ecclesiastical and political panorama, as well as the following social lunch organized by the Opera Padre Marella. To date he is carrying out various personal projects, always looking for professional improvement and refinement of his techniques as well as the improvement of his intimate and reflective style.
