BIOGRAPHY
I was born in Israel and spent most of my life living with my family in a small village in the north of Israel called Shorashim. After living in Europe for 4 years I came back to Israel 2 years ago and I live in Tel Aviv since. I believe that the most difficult part of my career is the uncertainty of where will I live in the future, I already lived and worked in few different countries and I still don’t know where I want to eventually settle down. Admittedly, In the everyday life I have so many sources of inspiration. Inspiration meets me everywhere, but my biggest drive to create usually comes from an emotion or a story of myself that I want to express. Sometimes it is someone else’s emotion or story that I find interesting or touching that I would like to capture. There’s a quote by Cheryl Strayed that I really like that says “There’s always a sunrise and always a sunset and it’s up to you to choose to be there for it, put yourself in the way of beauty” So generally I find myself really attracted to the aesthetics of classical art, for example renaissance paintings and even gothic architecture, but in particular I really love “the kiss” by Gustav Klimt and many other paintings by artists as Van Gogh, Egon Schiele, Claude Monet. Some classic photographers have influenced my work such as Robert Mapplethorpe, Richard Avedon and Platon, some modern ones are Martva Bevacqua, Guen Fiore and Dudi Hasson. As can be seen, my goal professionally is to get to work with people who influence me and the world, famous actors, musicians, politicians etc. At the moment I’m working on an ongoing project with my partner Rona Bar (who is also a photographer). In the past 6 months we captured couples in their homes, we want to explore romance, intimacy, relationships and body image. It’s important to us to include and to present diversity, to capture different kind of couples and to break social norms. Like I said before, it’s the emotion I look for in my work and usually I will try to capture it through the expression of the subject. My favorite work at this moment is a session I had with an Israeli musician called Romi Kovos, I think that I perfectlly captured what her music made me feel using my personal artistic signature, she loved the photos and using them till today for her music. Finally, a dream project for me is to photograph a public figure that I love and admire in my own style. For instance, If I could go back in time I would love to photograph my music idols such as Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison and Chris Cornell.
